New Field Progress

What a great week at the New Rend Lake Flying Field.   All the metal was on the roof by Friday afternoon.   The runway has started being mowed for final layout.   Sleeves were put in the ground for Event fence layout.  And lastly, the shrubs were all planted for the pilot area. 

This coming week there will be loads of top soil brought in to do final grade work around the pavilion and get grass planted.  They will also start enclosing the south end of pavilion for a storage area.  Then on the north wall of storage area there will be two recessed areas for 60" tv's.  These will be used for FPV classes taught by college for the FAA Part 107 certification as well as by club members. 

It really looks as if we will be able to hold Warbirds Over Rend Lake 2017 at the new field!
