P-47 is done in the colors of the 56th Fighter Group, 8th Air Force WW2 and was named Hairless Joe from the Little Abner Cartoons in the news paper. The pilot who flew it was Col. don Schilling from Oklahoma. He was one of the high scoring aces in the 56th.
